Rooikraal Revisited

With the huge success of our last outreach to the Rooikraal informal settlement, this past Saturday saw more of our congregation join in to help out on our second visit.

The preperation and all that went with it was pretty much the same but our spirits seemed even more expectant this time, excited to see what God had in store for His people.

Earlier in the week, our interpreter's son was shot and killed near his home. To Amos, our heart felt thoughts and prayers are with you during this time. We cannot begin to imagine the grief and anguish but what we do know is that God has begun a mighty work in your life and we are greatful for your help and input into these outreaches. We pray that the Spirit of God will go before you, will comfort you, will guide you and will put your heart at ease.

In the midst of this sorrow, God still provided for us and blessed us with four more interpreter's and more support from another local church. Armed with more weapons than before, we set off on our mission for our King and Saviour.

As is expected, with much prayer and the preaching of God's Word, signs and wonders must follow and that's exactly what happened. More than 80 people committed their lives to the Lord Yesterday, many of them also came forward for healing. I remember a certain lady who was prayed for the last time, she had excessive pain in her knees and joints and could hardly bend over. Yesterday she came bouncing up to the back of the truck we were preaching from testifying of how God had healed her. There were many similar testimonies yesterday, people receiving their healing, their children that were just last week in bed sick were there with them, people whose lives needed a desperate touch from God, now with renewed hope and joy.

A work has begun in the Rooikraal informal settlement and we are just a bunch of willing servants, here to help appropriate the healing, blessings and freedom God has already given to all though His Son Jesus Christ.
