"I have been crucified with Christ; It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." Galatians 2:20

Outreach to Rooikraal Dump

The time of Pentecost is always a time of expectancy. God has always done new things around this time and this past weekend was no exception.

A few of us from Breakthru decided to go to the Rooikraal Dump and landfill site to minister to the needs of the people who live and work there.

These people spend their days sorting through mountains of rubbish to collect what they can for re-cycling. Unlike the society we know, they don't do it for the enrichment of the environment but they do it to survive. The dump is their only source of income with most of them making as little as R5 a day.

Earlier in the week, Rodney, Noela and Clayton set out on the prompting of the Holy Spirit with around 50 blankets to distribute to these people. Needless to say, they were swamped when they arrived and the blankets dissapeared in seconds. They had the opportunity to minister to the people and pray for them. There were many miracles that day, deaf people healed, the lame were walking again and people were set free in Jesus name!

So, the call went out and we managed to gather more helpers for Saturday. This time we took with us food and expected to feed over 100 people. We also took more blankets and a portable sound system to minister the Word of God to these people. God showed up as always and it was a blessing to see more than 200 people gathered around the guys who were preaching.

When the call went out for those to accept Christ as their Lord and Saviour, almost all of their hands went up. The saddest part of the day was to see how many needed healing but God had placed us their for such a time as that and we were ready to pray for them and love them.
I t was amazing to see the Holy Spirit move, His presence was so tangible... Thank you God for your grace and mercy!

So what remains now is partially up to us because faith without works is dead! We're going back again, on the 9th of June, if you're from Breakthry church or the Boksburg area and you're reading this and want to be used by God in this City then I ask you to get involved either on the day or in the preperations. This is a call to God's army... the fields are truly white unto harvest but the labourers are few... will you be a labourer for God and be used by Him to help set the captives free!!!
