"I have been crucified with Christ; It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." Galatians 2:20

Young Adults... 2006 in a nutshell

It was great to see all the old faces back at Young Adults last Thursday and it was just a sgreat seeing some new faces too. Welcome back guys!!!
Tom discussed what we are planning to do this year as a Young Adult group and it's all very exciting. We believe God is going to move in our group this year in a big way, just like we believe He is moving in our churches, but we need to play our part, we need to spend time in prayer and fasting to make sure we don't miss what God has planned for us.

We would like to go on more outreaches this year, especially to Voslorous and other local areas and we would also like to take a group on an outreach across our borders so we will see how God leads us. We have all been called to fulfil the great commission to go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every living creature as it says in Mark 16:15 and that's what we plan on doing. So, let me encourage you, if you haven't been on an outreach yet, you gottat come with us next time. It's amazing to see what an impact we can have in the world.

God has also blessed us with the volleyball court and we plan to make good use of it in 2006. We want to connect with other churches and we see this as a way to accomplish that. We are also going to use it as a tool in local outreaches and a testimony to the goodness of God.
A Young Adult Camp will be planned for this year and we'll use it as a time not only for fellowship but also as a time for us as a group to focus on what God has called us to be in our lives. We are all blessed to be part of a group like this, I believe that this stage of our lives is crucial and the decissions we make as individuals affect us and others for many years to come.

We will be publishing a more detailed calendar of events for 2006 soon and we welcome all comments from y'all! So much to do... so little time...

For now, here are some important times and dates to remember:
- Thursday Nights :: Young Adults starts @ 19:30 and ends officially @ 21:00
- 12 Feb to 17 Feb :: For My Life Ministry starts @ Breakthru Church. Excellent God inspired ministry that I believe everyone should attend (Evening Course, you can contact me for details if you're interested but we need to know at least 1 week before the course commences)
- Mighty Men's Conference :: takes place at Shalom Ministries in February, contact me for details. (Men only... sorry ladies :)

Stay tuned for more info...

God Bless

In Him, Through Him, For Him...

It's time for Clay to leave for Aus. Thank you to everyone for the support and prayers, my brother is truly blessed to have friends and family like you guys.
It's sad to see him go but I feel an awesome peace in my spirit knowing that he is walking into the light and not turning away from it. Clay, we pray that God will keep you, protect you and that His Holy Spirit will guide you. I know that you are living for the King and I know that when people look at your life they will want to know "Who is this King of Glory?"
Thank you for the spiritual input you give me everyday, even when you're not around I still can hear you encouraging me.
This morning when we had communion, I felt like a piece of me was being torn away but I now realise that a piece of me is going to walk in it's destiny, calling and purpose.

God Bless Clay, we all love you lots and I love you

Happy New Year!!!

2006.
The start of a new year is always exciting and I think that this year is absolutely no exception. So many changes, challenges, choices, chocolates, choo-choo trains... oops, sorry, got a bit side-tracked there.

First of all, let me say a very big congratulations to Tom and Anita on there engagement! Wow, now who thought they'd ever get married (just kidding). We love you guys and thanks for what you do for the Young Adults.
Next up is Dan the Man and Fraser, they're currently in the Congo. Guys, if you ever read this, our prayers and thoughts are with you. We know God is looking after you. Let this be an encouragement to carry on what you're already doing, not to give up or look back, your faithfulness and commitment to the gospel is an true example to us.

Furthermore, Clay will be leaving us this year to go and study at Hillsong in Australia. God Bless my bro!! (I'll do a more comprehensive write up in a bit, wih lotswa pics) Check out his blog at http://claydownunder.blogspot.com

I believe that 2006 is going to be a year where we as a Young Adult group will go deeper with God, enter into the blessings He has for us and in turn be a blessing to our own church and community.
Read these scriptures: Psalm 71:1-6 and Lamentations 3:22-26 and Romans 5:1-5

God Bless
